In continuation to this Council’s circular of even number dated 30th October,2009 announcing next India Carpet Expo, from 25 - 28 February, 2010 in Hall No. 18, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, we would like to inform that in view of the Holi Festival falling on 1st March, 2010, the organization of India Carpet Expo has been preponed from 25 - 28 February, 2010 to 23 - 26 February, 2010. It has also been decided to hold an EXHIBITION-CUM- BUYER SELLER MEET for Rajasthan based Member-Exporters at Jaipur on 27- 28 February, 2010.

You are aware that this Council is confronted from time to time with the problem of child labour in the Carpet Industry. To overcome the problem of child labour, the Council has formulated a Code of Conduct for its Member-Exporters. The Code of Conduct requires its Members to ensure that his/her Carpets are woven only on the Looms registered by this Council having no child labour as prohibited by the Child Labour Prohibition & Regulation Act, 1986.

You may be aware that one of the conditions for Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) is that every RCMC holder shall furnish quarterly returns of exports to the concerned registering authority. An extract of the Para 2.70 of Chapter-2 of Handbook of Procedures, Vol-1, 2004-2009 (updated as on 11th April,2008), in this regard is given below:
“Furnishing of Returns 2.70 - Exporters shall furnish quarterly returns/details of his exports of different commodities to concerned registering authority.”
