Carpet Export
Promotion Council submitted required Duty Drawback Data to the Department of
Revenue, Ministry of Finance for upward revision of All Industry Duty
Drawback Rates on Carpets and other floor coverings. Shri Siddh Nath Singh,
Chairman, Shri M.D. Mirza, 1st Vice-Chairman, Shri V.R. Sharma, Ex-Chairman,
Shri O.P. Garg, Shri S.S. Singhania, Members COA, CEPC made presentation
before the High Powered Committee on Drawback for upward revision of Duty
Drawback Rates for the Carpet Industry and also had meetings with the
concerned Sr. Officials. The Department of Revenue kindly acceded to the
request of the Council for upward revision of Duty Drawback Rates and
Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue vide notification No.
92/2012-Customs (N.T.) dated 04.10.2012 has announced All Industry Duty
Drawback Rates for the year 2012-13 effective from 10th October, 2012. |

essentially require to furnish their Annual Export Performance Returns, to
the Council.
We further would like to inform that of late, it has been observed that most
of the Member Exporters of this Council, are not submitting their Export
Performance Returns, regularly, to this Office. The Export Performance
Returns help this Council to assess the export trends, to some extent.
In view of the above, we would request you to please furnish your Annual
Export Performance figures in the under-mentioned proforma, for the year
2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 (1st Quarter) . |

deregulated the ceiling rate on export credit in foreign currency vide RBI
Circular NO DBOD. DIR No. 100/40.02.001/2011-12 dated 04/05/2012. Now banks
have been allowed to freely determine their interest rates, on both
borrowing (from overseas banks) and lending rates of export credit in
foreign currency.

vigorous efforts of the Council the Government of India accepted the request
of the CEPC for restricting export of Handmade Woollen Carpets on clean D/A
term of Payment.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce,
Govt. of India vide Notification No. 5/(RE-2012)/ 2009-2014 dated 2nd July,
2012 made the following amendments in Table A of the Schedule 2 of the
ITC(HS) Classification of Export & Import Items, by inserting entry at S.
No. 8 A, 8 B & 8 C, with immediate effect.

sealed quotations for construction/decoration of CEPC’s stands with other
allied works in Domotex Intl. Trade Fair at Hannover (Germany) from 12-15
January, 2013. (Approx. 200 stands of different sizes i.e. 9 sq.mtrs. to 48
sq.mtrs. within total area of 2300 sq.mtrs.).Interested contractors, who
have minimum three years experience of such work and have completed
assignment of minimum 2000 sq.mtrs. in international fairs, may submit
quotations with rates based on detailed specifications and terms of
reference listed on CEPC’s website : www.indiancarpets.com . It can also be
collected from CEPC’s Working Office at New Delhi. |
