Sub: European Union (EU’s) Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) scheme of Self Certification –Version of 24.01.2017

Dear Members,

As you are aware that EU's "Generalised Scheme of Preferences" (GSP) allows developing countries to pay less or no duties on their exports to the EU. This gives our member exporters vital access to EU markets and contributes to India’s economic growth. The procedure of self certification (rather than by the approved agencies) for consignment value greater than € 6000 (Euro Six Thousand Only) has been institutionalized from 1st January,2017 onwards.

Under this Scheme of Self Certification the exporters can himself issue a “statement on origin” on any commercial export document for availing of the EU GSP tariff preferences for exports of eligible products to EU. The latest document (Updated Version of 24.01.2017) is attached for your information.

The members may avail the benefit of Self Certification under the above scheme.

 Regards,

                                                                                                Yours Sincerely,

                                                                                               Shiv Kumar Gupta

                                                                                   Executive Director-cum-Secretary
